SMS Valuation & Forensic Services, LLC is a nationally known and recognized valuation firm operating out of a local office in Exton, Pennsylvania. On the National level, our practice is part of a network of valuation and fair value measurement specialists and resources.

Our firm has worked with a wide variety of clients including public companies, private equity groups, business owners and individuals. Additionally, we have extensive experience working on acquisitions/sales, fair value allocations of purchase price for financial reporting purposes, goodwill impairment testing, stock option and preferred equity analyses, family limited partnerships, intangible assets and various other valuation and forensic issues.

Susan M. Saidens, CPA, ABV, CVA, CFE, ASA is the Managing Director of SMS Valuation & Forensic Services, LLC. Susan is licensed as a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Susan also holds three business valuation credentials; she holds the Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) designation from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants; the Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) designation from the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts; and the Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) designation from the American Society of Appraisers. Additionally, Susan holds the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) designation from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners

Susan is an original member of the Appraisal Issues Task Force (AITF) established at the request of the United States Securities Commission (SEC) to provide guidance on Fair Value measurement issues resulting from the recent accounting pronouncements. The AITF is comprised of business valuation experts from a select group of leading valuation firms, as well as representatives from the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), the SEC's Office of the Chief Accountant, and the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB).

Susan has authored articles for the national media and is a sought after speaker for many organizations. Susan is the co-author of an 8-hour professional education course titled "Current Update in Valuations" presented by Consultants' Training Institute (CTI) and which Susan also helps teach across the country.
